Pensions Accountant

Hours: 9am to 5pm Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £45000 - £50000 

Location: Burton On Trent

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit an Pensions Accountant to join our business in Burton On Trent on a permanent basis. The starting salary is between £45000 - £50000
per annum and the working hours are 9am to 5pm Permanent, Full-Time.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Working closely with the Pension Manager, this role will include (but is not limited to):

• Full responsibility for pension scheme accounting processes and postings

• Preparation of cash books, processing advisor payments and coordination of VAT claims with the Tax Manager

• Coordination of the pension scheme audit and support with company pension disclosures

• Preparation of annual statutory accounts for the pension scheme and related company disclosures

• Production of monthly forecasts for the Finance team and actuarial advisors

• Liaison with third-party administrators on monthly cashflow requirements and quarterly data reconciliations

• Close collaboration with Finance and Payroll teams on the monthly Defined Contribution (DC) cycle

 

 

Experience and Skills:

 

• Fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA

• Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience (PQE)

• Strong technical financial accounting background (essential)

• Statutory accounting experience within a UK medium to large organisation (essential)

• Experience working with and coordinating auditors (essential)

• Pensions experience or knowledge (desirable, but not essential)

• Excellent technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of internal controls

• High level of proficiency in Excel (essential)

• Experience with SAP is highly desirable (training can be provided)

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and clearly communicate financial data

• Confident building relationships at all levels of the business

• High attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach

• Resilient, flexible and comfortable working under pressure and to changing deadlines
