Financial Accountant
Hours: 9am to 5pm Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £45000 - £48000
Location: Burton On Trent
Contract Type: Permanent
Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit an Financial Accountant to join our business in Burton On Trent on a permanent basis. The starting salary is between £45000 - £48000
per annum and the working hours are 9am to 5pm Permanent, Full-Time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver financial accounting and control for fixed/variable cost centre reporting and manage underlying transactional processes.
• Support the preparation of the annual management plan and forecasts.
• Partner with business functions to provide financial support in your areas of responsibility.
• Oversee financial accounting and month-end closure of the trade creditors area, including:
o Supporting purchase ledger supervisor with financial accounting matters.
o Closure and revaluation of purchase ledger.
o Adjustments for group reporting.
o GRIR analysis, maintenance and control.
o Goods in transit calculations and reconciliations.
o Intercompany balances uploads and reconciliation (HFM ITM).
o DPO calculations.
• Manage financial accounting and control of central HQ cost recharges.
• Support monthly group reporting and preparation of annual statutory accounts.
• Prepare information for tax purposes where relevant.
• Act as a key liaison with auditors.
• Drive internal controls and implement process improvements.
• Undertake ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
Experience and Skills:
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
• Strong financial accounting experience (including VAT and tax) within a UK organisation - essential.
• Demonstrable post-qualification industry experience - essential.
• Experience with SAP - highly desirable (training can be provided).
• Strong technical financial accounting knowledge with focus on internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical ability with the confidence to interpret and present data.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Resilient, flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proactive team player and self-starter.
• Genuine enthusiasm for process improvements.
